Bridal Showers & Bachelorette Parties!

A big Thank you to Jeni for throwing my Bridal Shower in Iowa City and Cassie&Kristen for throwing me a crazy bachelorette party! I then went to Salem to see my hometown friends and family where my sisters threw me a beautiful shower, followed by a scavenger hunt bachelorette party that led us to the bars! While in town Hayden got to meet his Cousins Kyle(pictured)and Blakers!

Everything in between.....

Oh yea I guess I forgot to mention that we got engaged! One night at the end of January Doug said the magic words and I began the planning for what would then be our June 28th wedding! When we got back from Vegas our photographer took a few Engagement photos-here is a family one:) and one of just Doug and I. We also had the wrestling banquet where Hayden got held up on stage by his Godfather Tom! After that I was off to celebrate bridal showers and bachelorette parties!!!

Hayden's First Trip to Vegas, US Open

We then traveled to Las Vegas to watch Doug compete at the 2008 US Open! Above you can see while we were there we had to test out Hayden's new swim suit!! Hayden and I drove to Colorado with Jeni and the kids where we proceeded to drop off the Kids with Grandma Bonnie and pick up Michelle! Then the four of us (Jeni,Michelle, Hayden &I ) continued another 12 or so hours to Vegas! I did however get to be the last driver-and hero for the last hour and half/two hours as I drove into the Vegas lights around 4 or 5am! Doug had a great tournament and won his first US Open title! I was so glad that Hayden and I were there to share that excitement with him! Now on the the Olympic Trials!

Hayden's First Big Tens/Nationals

Yep he made the trip(Only 6-7 weeks old) to Big Tens in Minnesota followed by Nationals in St. Louis! We were excited to watch the Hawks bring the title back to Iowa City! Here are a few pictures!

We're Home, Doug gets Inducted:)

We brought Hayden home on Feb. 15th! It was a little scary and nerve racking, but needless to say we were so glad to get outside of the walls of the hospital. On Feb 16th Doug got inducted into the State High School Wrestling Hall of Fame! We traveled down to Des Moines to see him receive his award ! Above is a picture of Doug with his brother Mike at the Induction ceremony and then a picture of Hayden all bundled for us to bring him home!

February 5, 2008 Hayden Michael Schwab

Need I say more:) We had just returned from dual meets at Minnesota and Wisconsin and I went into labor the next day! After a long night we were blessed with Hayden Michael Schwab 6lb 40z at 4:54am on Feb. 5, 2008. Here are a few first pics. Unfortunately we had to stay a few extra days because Hayden had pneumonia, but he is a fighter and looking at him today it is hard to believe we ever had to take him back to get his weight checked:)

Christmas 2007, Baby Room, Almost here!

Christmas was great! A little hectic with cancelled flights, lots of snow, but we were able to spend it with both our families! Here are some pics of our first Christmas tree in our home, family at Christmas and some Big Belly Pics before the big arrival!
